Here is the end of our story… finally! Sorry we’ve kept you waiting so long.
Just a quick message to let you know that we are still alive. We just spent an incredible week in the south of Bolivia. What we saw was unbelievable! We know that you are waiting for new posts and new pictures. We have so much to share with you but so little time to do it well. We will cross the border tomorrow. We go back to Argentina for a few days before flying to Asia. Once in Argentina, I promise to do my best to post as many thing as possible!
As we received a special request (one that could't be ignored!), we are finally about to tell you everything you wanted to know about our great journey to Machu Picchu...
We have travelled so much since I last posted an update on the website! We definitely left Peru and we have been in Bolivia for about 10 days already! Crossing the border was quite easy except that Bolivian people only allowed us to stay in their country for 30 days. As European citizens we can normally stay here for 90 days. We didn't plan on staying in Bolivia that long but we had to review our itinerary. Unfortunately we'll have to skip the jungle region and the Cordillera Real. Anyway, here is an idea of what we have seen so far in Bolivia...
We arrived in Cusco four days ago after a long journey. The 21 hours we spent in the bus were quite difficult...We went from 200 metres to 3500 metres above see level in a few hours and the bends (one every 45 mn) got the better of my stomach!
After a long silence, it is time to let you know what we have been up to in the last few weeks! We arrived in Lima, Peru, yesterday and spent most of today visiting what the capital has to offer... To be honest we haven't been very impressed.
We are currently in Iquique, North Chile, and we will probably cross the Peruvian border in a few days. I am trying to update the website with new articles but it takes time to translate everything. Thanks for your patience!
While waiting for new stories to come you can take a look at these new photo albums:
Perito Moreno: http://muddyshoes.e-monsite.com/album-cat-1-176371.html
El Chalten: http://muddyshoes.e-monsite.com/album-cat-1-176372.html
Easter Island: http://muddyshoes.e-monsite.com/album-cat-1-176639.html
When we booked our flight tickets online it never occurred to us that we would be on that island to celebrate Easter ! Prices were just much more interesting at that time. Apparently celebrating Easter on Easter Island is not a selling point. Well we certainly won’t complain, we managed to discover the island and its wonders nearly on our own. For your delight, you will be able to admire all these giants without any unknown tourists on the foreground
This post should have come a long time ago but it seems that we are loosing track of time... we'll try to make up for our lack of consistency today by telling you what happened to us in the last few weeks.... First of all we are currently in Valparaiso, a strange and charming city in the North of Santiago. We were supposed to stay here a couple of days but we have extended our stay as we like it here. Our hostel is very nice and colourful and the internet connection is fast. Hopefully we'll manage to upload loads of pictures so that you can admire the beautiful things we have seen so far!
Our trip on Easter Island is over, we are back to Santiago where we wil spend a few days. We haven't been able to update the website for a really long time and we'll try to make up for it! Nice pictures to come!
